In response to a rise in new instances, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) established new rules, which led to the mandatory mask-wearing for protection against Covid-19 staging a comeback.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) report that 382 new coronavirus cases were discovered from 13,412 Covid-19 tests performed during the past 24 hours, increasing the national positivity ratio to 2.85 percent. According to the NIH, 87 Covid patients were in serious condition, while two people died.
The NCOC made the wearing of masks a requirement for all domestic trains, planes, and other forms of public transportation. An NIH spokeswoman added, "We request that all citizens wear masks while travelling to prevent the transmission of Covid-19."
Additionally, all regions and provinces were instructed to prioritise giving booster shots.
